“It was imperative that my team and I composed a song dedicated to women on the go and always get the bag”! ~Greg Jr
Gregory Bernard Davis Jr, born May 28th, 1987 in Memphis, TN. Greg Jr. grew up in an old school environment. Listening to the oldies, family BBQs, etc… At an early age he witnessed the struggles that came along with being raised by a strong single-parent Black mother and being the oldest sibling. Additionally, seeing his father and other family members go through the cycle of getting caught up in the incarceration system. Greg Jr. was the first to go to college in his family and is a proud alumni of an HBCU (Lane College).
Rapping since the age of 14, being a poetry show host, radio personality, etc. back home, he left it all behind after graduating from undergrad and packed up his things riding the Greyhound to Los Angeles,CA with little means to pursue his dreams, not even fully knowing at the time what they were. Residing in South Central and on the West-side for over a decade and doing whatever it took to survive. Hadn’t pursued music in over a decade, hence the album being titled “OVERDUE” which dropped on October 15th, 2021. He also attended UCLA film school for a short period of time until financial issues hindered his continuation. Greg Jr’s musical influences include hip-hop, rnb, jazz, house, blues, neo-soul music and so on…
Album #2 “BERNARD” released on May 28th. Stay tuned…
